This is it, y’all: the time of year where everyone starts fresh and new, this time with clear eyes for 2020. For many that means an evaluation of where we are and where we want to be: in our jobs, friendships, romance, and (for some) fitness. I personally love resolutions and try to make a few every year ranging from being on time more often, cursing less (sorry grandma), to setting specific goals for things like running a race of a certain distance or participating in 24 Hours of Booty.
Resolutions get a bad wrap because, as they say about the best laid plans, they sometimes make us crazy. Or something like that… We beat ourselves up for not meeting an arbitrary goal we felt obligated to make just because the clock struck twelve and the ball dropped in Times Square again. 2020 is not just a new year, but a new decade, folks! Let’s leave the nastiness with which we treat ourselves around resolution time in the last decade and move forward with attainable goals where you don’t get down if life happens and you don’t quite reach them this year.
