Open – Speedway’s New Rink

**Light Show and Ice Rink Closed Christmas Day, Dec. 25 **
You can add the all-new 5,400-square-foot ice rink to your list of Holiday 2020 must-do’s, as long as you’re braving the traffic to head up to see the Speedway Christmas Light spectacular. The Ice Rink at Speedway Christmas outdoor skating tickets & skate rental are available for purchase in person at the rink. You can, however, buy your tickets to drive thru the lights online here, and you can add an express lane “fast pass” for $20 per car Sunday through Thursdays. Fri & Sat you will just brave the line.
Open – U.S. National Whitewater Center
Boasting the options to skate on an ice trail or free skate on 17,000 sq. ft of ice, the Whitewater Center’s new skating environment features three distinct programming areas and an on-ice Airstream serving hot and cold beverages.
Please note, an advance time slot is required with your pass to access Ice Skating. TIME SLOT INFORMATION:
- Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Ice Skating has limited capacity and requires an assigned time slot to participate for all pass holders.
- Time slot assignments are included at no extra charge with the purchase of a Single Activity Pass or Day Pass, as well as the redemption of an Annual Pass.
- Guest may only secure one time slot at a time.
- Additional time slots can be secured onsite only by visiting a Guest Services location.
- Time slots can be secured in advance online, onsite and via phone.
- *Online time slots are currently limited to Single Activity Pass purchases only with one time slot assignment per pass per transaction.
- Guests who wish to purchase or redeem a Day or Annual Pass must secure a time slot via phone or onsite.

Almost more enticing is the new this year lights display at USNWC, an illuminated walking trail that leads you through a series of immersive light installations by Meredith Connelly, featuring webs, vines, crystals and other natural features integrated into the forest.
Ice Skating at the USNWC requires a Single Activity Pass ($20) or All Access Pass ($59) Day Pass. Annual pass holders get in free. Skate rentals are included in pass purchases. Socks are required.
Open – Founders Holiday Ice Rink in Rock Hill
Open with Limited Avails through January 18 every day except Monday and Christmas.
At this rink in Old Town Rock Hill, $10 covers skate rental & up to two (2) hours on the ice. TICKETS are required. As are masks. Operating hours vary widely given the day / holiday so definitely check their calendar here.
Open – Pineville Ice House (INDOORS)
Not a temporary holiday rink, open all year for lessons, hockey and figure skating, the Pineville Ice House offers public skating most afternoons this holiday break. $ 15 Admission for all ages and includes skates. Wear socks, and helmets recommended for young or inexperienced skaters. Here are their Covid & Seasonal Attendance Rules:
SEASONAL NOTES
- North Carolina Executive Order 180 requires that you wear a face covering at all times while in the rink, including on the ice.
- During our peak season from November through February, you may sometimes encounter brief admission delays when attendance reaches building capacity which has been reduced due to COVID-19 precautions. If this occurs, our Customer Service Staff will place your group on a waitlist for priority admission as other customers finish skating and leave the building, which occurs continually during a Session.
- During our busy weekend and holiday sessions, we may not be able to accommodate unpaid spectators due to capacity limitations.
- For customers with Self Service Accounts, weekend, holiday and other busy Public Skating Sessions may not be available for online purchase.
Open – Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail (Indoors)
Also open year round and primarily used for lessons, hockey, figure skating, and summer camps, Extreme Ice is on the other side of town and public skating hours vary. Check the calendar here. Admission is $10 per person and Skate rentals are $5 per person.

Greenville SC Ice on Main
An open-air ice rink open through Jan. 31. Capacity on the ice is limited this year, and tickets are date-specific with timed sessions. Tickets, which include skate rentals, are $10 for adults and $8 for children twelve and under. In addition, only one non-ticketed spectator per skater will be admitted to the event site (you can view the rink from the patio next to City Hall though). Face coverings are required. HOURS mostly 11 am to 10 pm but do vary, check their website.
