In an Instagram post, the restaurant addressed customers, saying “Thank you for embracing us and for 7 years of 7 summits, stories, laughs, BBQ shrimp, first dates, proposals, parties, and just genuine neighborhood fun.” The Mayobird will not be affected by this closing…the Mayobird plans to open Wed-Sun from 10-2 with a limited menu and a version of a family meal. All orders will be bagged “to go” (to limit contact) and will be put in ABC order on their pick up bar as you walk in the side door. Call ahead is encouraged.

SO Sadly, this Myers Park landmark is closing after providing Charlotte with independent and foreign films since 1947. It will be missed.
