KidzArt

KidzArt South Charlotte is a drawing-based art enrichment program emphasizing critical thinking skills, creativity and having fun. Owned and operated by local mom, Marisa Zeibert, KidzArt’s “No Mistakes” philosophy (meaning it DOESN’T have to be perfect!) supports problem-solving development and the ability to see the world in a new way. The result? Confidence to navigate obstacles with creative thinking – an invaluable skill that also carries over to other areas of study and life!

Sign up the kids for a unique drawing adventure from the comfort of your home with VIRTUAL DRAWING CLASSES. Equipped with a growth-mindset, we’ll break down our drawings into manageable steps as we learn to see like artists and draw what we see.

Our LIVE step-by-step instructional classes take place on Mon/Wed/Fri at 2:30pm EST via Zoom, and last about 45 minutes each via Zoom. These classes are suggested for ages 6-11, and no experience is necessary.

Can’t make the live classes at 2:30pm? No problem – at the end of the week, we’ll send our registered KidzArt families a link with the recorded classes! Do them on your own schedule, as these recorded classes will be available to you for one full week after posting.

These classes can be done at home with basic materials (drawing utensil, paper and something to color your drawing in with). An optional “Art Kit” which includes all supplies for the session can be purchased for local pickup.

YMCA Overnight Camps

This summer YMCA Camp Harrison and Camp Thunderbird will follow a model that puts the health and safety of campers and staff first, while providing care to children in even more ways than before. Their goal is to give campers an experience that will still capture the magic of summer amidst all of these additional steps.

With guidance from Y-USA, the American Camping Association and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Camp Harrison will follow COVID-19 safety precautions as identified. Currently, their preliminary plans will include practices such as lower staff to camper ratio, social distancing, frequent handwashing and enhanced sanitation practices.

Both camps have availability for the summer. More details on safety protocols and camp registration can be found here for Camp Harrison and here for Camp Thunderbird
