Charlotte is now brimming with street art and murals; we have so much art outside bringing expressions of beauty, vision, frustration, history, statement, and local culture to our public. Touring these works is the perfect “safe-outside” fresh air activity, and street art has a way of connecting you to the artists and their message that feels new & different & now.
One of the photographers we follow who has a pulse on Charlotte’s outside art is Brooke Brown of @brookebrownphotography_clt. Brooke is drawn not just to the beauty of the art she captures, but to the stories and artists behind them. Her instagram is full of the local murals and artists the make our city vibrant. At our request, Brooke picked out some of her favorite murals in Uptown Charlotte, so you can make a plan to visit and enjoy them too.
Use the addresses provided to find each artwork, or link to the amazing site www.artwalksclt.com for several free self-guided art walk mapped tours which provide specific location, artist info, story, key art terms. Either way, DIY or with ARTWALKS, it’s easy to incorporate these murals (and more) into a get-outside art walk Uptown.
