2020 is Almost Over. Will you do a Welcome to the NEW YEAR Family Photo Instead This Year?

Welcoming 2021 seems like the perfect well wishes card to send out this year, especially if you’re running behind on your Holiday Card program. We asked one of our favorite local photographers to pull together her list of best places to capture your holiday photos, and she not only came through with some great picks, but also a deal for you on a photo session!

Hey there! My name is Heather Ison, I am an Interior Design photographer based in Charlotte, NC. While Interiors are my main focus, I continue to love working with families and small businesses year round! This year Scoop asked me to share some of my favorite locations around Uptown & SouthEnd to capture you and your family for a New Year card. If you are someone who has waited or missed the Christmas card deadline, you can still create a beautiful New Year card to send to your family and friends and what better year to do so!

Elizabeth Park

This classic park along the greenway has lots of options for a beautiful family session including swings, stonework, plenty of greenery and a peek of the city skyline.

Fourth Ward Park

Tucked away in the city and packed full of character & charm I love everything about Fourth Ward! With beautiful homes, streets and a quaint park there is plenty of photo ops to be found here.

Camden Road – Flower Child Mural

Starting at the colorful peace sign mural in front of Flower Child and continuing down Camden Road in SouthEnd, this area would be the perfect location for a unique and creative family session!

Krispy Kreme – South End

Staying in SouthEnd I had to include another FUN family photo session option, perfect for families with young kiddos – the donut mural on one side of the Krispy Kreme building is extra fun and colorful, then just around the corner you with find beautiful greenery and textured brick walls. Bonus to this location: it smells delicious!

Marshall Park

A classic Uptown Charlotte feel can be found at Marshall Park with this beautiful and somewhat famous view of the Charlotte skyline! There is also plenty of ground to walk around and explore with a water feature, bridge and large staircase.

Midtown Park

Another lovely park located just outside of Charlotte along the greenway with street lamps, city skyline and concrete features to make for a more urban vibe.

Metropolitan Skyline

Love living in the Queen City?! Show off that beautiful Charlotte skyline as the main backdrop of your family photos this year! From up here the views are bound to be gorgeous no matter the season.

Romare Bearden Park

Nestled in the heart of the city, a well known location, but not one to be over looked with its large parks and tall cityscapes as a backdrop. Romare Bearden Park makes a perfect spot for family photos in the Queen City!
