End Of Summer Adventure: Visit This NC Vineyard, Less Than 45 Minutes Away

Need to pack in just one more dose of summer before you get back to whatever reality awaits after Labor Day? Same. Not enough time or budget left to organize a full-on weekend getaway? Same. Just looking for an easy, relaxing break doing something you haven’t done yet this summer, or say, in the last 18 months? Again. Same.

That’s why we found nearby Veronét Vineyards to be the perfect weekend end-of-summer jaunt, with wine tastings, beautiful views, food trucks, hiking, and welcoming fun for the kids and the dogs. It’s just a short 36 minute drive away, close to Crowders Mountain, just right for a day trip break before fall routines set in. And if you want to make a real trip of it, we’ve sourced both drivers to shuttle you and nearby spots to spend the night.

Here are all of the details so you can plan an adventure to this nearby gem.

How to Get to Veronét Vineyards

Located in Kings Mountain, NC, Veronét is truly very easy to get to – it’s just a 36-minute drive away from Uptown. Because we know your end of summer adventure should be safe and hassle-free, we recommend kicking it up a notch with a driver.

To use a local driver, these are three options to consider: Roland Brown Driver Service (914-671-1083), The Transporter Charlotte (704-421-0656), and the highly rated Silver Fox Limo Service (704-622-9944).

As you secure your driver and plan your visit, be sure to plan around Veronét’s hours – they’re open Friday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

What to Do Once You’re There

Perhaps one of the best things about Veronét Vineyards & Winery is all of the great things to do both in and around the vineyards. We’ve broken down everything you’ll have access to during your visit and organized it by the type of adventure you might want to have.

The Nature Lover

If a scenic hike followed by a leisurely afternoon sipping great wine sounds like you, you’ll love Veronét. Because the vineyard’s located just 10-minutes from Crowders Mountain State Park many visitors opt for a morning hike followed by an afternoon enjoying all Veronét has to offer. And, for those who skip Crowders or want more trails post hike, Veronét offers a 1.5 mile trail on property!

If being outdoors also means you’re looking for quality time with your canine, you’re in luck – Veronét allows leashed dogs outside and offers tons of seating on property.

The Adult With Children In Tow

For adults with children, Veronét goes above and beyond to make the entire family comfortable, ensuring everyone has a wonderful time. For example, kids receive complimentary juice boxes and Goldfish crackers during their visit plus you’ll be able to enjoy lawn games like cornhole. With that in mind, bringing the entire family is possible and you’ll have ample space to spread out – all of the vineyard’s outdoor tables have shade for the summer sun and you’re welcome to bring your own chairs and/or blankets to get cozy on the lawn.

The Food Aficionado

Charlotte’s food truck scene continues to grow and Veronét has a yummy lineup of rotating options onsite – for a full list, checkout their events calendar.

In addition to food trucks, charcuterie picnic boxes, nuts, crackers, and NC craft beer are available for purchase from the vineyard’s seasonal menu. Outside food is also permitted as long as you enjoy it outdoors and not in the tasting room itself. Not in the mood for wine? Non-alcoholic beverage options are also available and include Birch Fine Tea loose-leaf tea, bottled still water, Spindrift flavored sparkling waters, cold brew coffee, and sodas.

The Party Planner

Veronét makes get-togethers easy with their robust events calendar of live music, pop up shops, food trucks, and more. If you’d like your get-together to be private, Veronét provides the perfect backdrop for your special celebrations, corporate events, family reunions, charity galas, and more. For all of the details about events at Veronét visit this link.

Finally, as you may have heard, a casino is coming to Kings Mountain, and their temporary facility is already open. If a casino visit paired with wine tasting at a local vineyard sounds right up your alley, grab your gal pals and/or significant other and make a weekend of it.

The Wino

We saved the best for last – the wine. Veronét offers their delicious wine by a tasting flight, by the glass, and by the bottle. When you arrive, we recommend ordering a tasting flight so you can see what you’d most enjoy by the glass or by the bottle. With your tasting flight, you’ll receive three 3 oz. glasses of wine to enjoy seated inside the tasting room or outside on the patio

For a truly luxe experience, you can also enjoy a private tasting in a lovely room (pictured below) surrounded by bottles of wine – a budding somm’s dream!

Where to Stay Near Veronét Vineyards

If you plan to soak in all that Veronét has to offer, spending a night nearby is a great option. For the charm of a historic B&B, The York Chester Inn in downtown Gastonia, NC is just 24-minutes from the winery. If you prefer a hotel, there’s a new Hilton Garden Inn located about 31-minutes from the winery just outside of Gastonia.

Finally, for two wonderful Airbnb options try these beautifully decorated bungalows: The Belmont Bungalow and The Brookwood Bungalow. Both have great reviews, are run by a Superhost, and accommodate up to six guests with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Can’t make it to the vineyard but still want to taste the wine? You’re in luck! Veronét offers their wine online for customers in NC along with gift cards if you’d like to treat a special someone to an afternoon at the winery.
