Sunday, September 5, 2021 – Around the Crown 10K
Experience Charlotte at 5 mph, not 50 mph. Starting and finishing at First Ward Park, get a once in a lifetime opportunity to run the entirety of Charlotte’s 3 mile major inner loop, I-277. Benefiting Partners for Parks, an independent non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which preserves and maintains over 200+ parks and facilities covering almost 20,000 acres of parkland in Mecklenburg County.
Saturday, September 11, 2021 – The C2 Obstacle Trail Run from YMCA CLT
The C2 Obstacle Trail Run serves as the second race in the 2021 YMCA Race Series, and is perfect for runners and walkers of all levels and ages – beginner to expert. Hit the course at CAMP THUNDERBIRD in Lake Wylie and make your footprints count in support of the YMCA Annual Campaign that gives youth an opportunity to play, learn and grow in a safe and thriving environment.
Saturday, September 11, 2021 – South End Shuffle
On Sept 11, 2021 in the heart of South End, the 8th Annual South End Shuffle 5K & Mile Run starts on W Summit Ave in front of Wooden Robot Brewery and heads into Charlotte’s thriving South End neighborhood. There is also a 1 Mile Run for those looking for a shorter distance. Registration includes a finisher medal and beer (21+) from Wooden Robot Brewery or kid’s ice cream from Golden Cow Creamery (under 21). Shirts included for the 5K, and available as an upgrade for the 1 Mile.
Saturday, September 18, 2021 – OrthoCarolina 10K/5K Classic
The OrthoCarolina 10K Classic + Food Truck and Beer Fest is the areas premier 10K running event. In its 12th year, The OrthoCarolina Classic also feature a challenging 5K run/walk and a kid’s dash and a race expo where you can sample beer from local breweries and local food trucks will have food for sale. The race will cap at 2,000 runners.
Friday, September 24, 2021 – USNWC Tread Nightly Tread Brightly Trail Race
Grab your headlamp or rise with the sun. Choose between a night time or day light trail race, or tackle both back to back. Two course lengths are available. A half marathon or 4 mile distance.
Saturday, September 25, 2021 – ISF 5K for Kids Cancer, PLEASE NOTE NOW VIRTUAL ONLY
The 14th Annual ISF 5K for Kids Cancer is going to be Virtual Only in 2021, updated from their original plans for a hybrid event. Register you & your family and you automatically receive a fundraising page. Form a team and encourage your team members to fundraise to help make more of a difference for kids fighting cancer.
Saturday, October 2, 2021 – Taste of Charlotte Pink Cupcake Run/Walk & Breast Cancer Lap
Taste of Charlotte’s Pink Cupcake Run/Walk/Eat is back this year – enjoy mini cupcakes from four bakeries while walking laps around Truist Field. This year it’s partnered with Go Jen Go, a non profit that provides financial assistance to families in the greater Charlotte area who are battling breast cancer.
The Pink Cupcake Run/Walk starts at 10am, before the Taste of Charlotte festival opens, giving participants a peek inside before the general public arrives. Register, then grab your friends and join at the baseball stadium in uptown for a fun 1 mile run/walk/jog/eat around the Charlotte Knight’s field. As you pass home base after each lap, you’ll get a delicious cupcake!
Saturday, October 2, 2021 – Davidson Lands Conservancy Run for Green 5K/10K/Half Marathon
16th Annual Running Event to benefit Lands Conservancy, the course winds its way through lovely little neighborhoods with long stretches out in the woods on the greenway where you can take in the serenity of nature. Also offering a Virtual / Run Anywhere option.
Sunday, October 3, 2021 – Craft Beer Half Marathon & 5 Miler
North Carolinas BEST Half Marathon celebrating running and Craft Beer!
Join the Craft Beer Half Marathon & 5 Miler to celebrate running and the HUGE Charlotte Craft Beer scene with fantastic course through miles of the greenway in North Charlotte. The Half Marathon will run on HALF Greenway and HALF roads. This event will celebrate Octoberfest this year and will only accept 1,500 runners.
Saturday, October 9, 2021 – Rescue Me 5K at Symphony Park
Grab your four-legged and two-legged running and walking buddies and join folks at Symphony Park for the fifth RescueMe 5k benefiting the American Pit Bull Foundation and Operation Sidekick (program pairing rescued service dogs with veterans struggling with PTSD).

Saturday, October 23, 2021 – 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer’s
The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is full of flowers, each carried by someone committed to ending this disease. Because like flowers, our participants don’t stop when something’s in their way. They keep raising funds and awareness for a breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. The 2021 Walkis moving forward with plans to host in-person events this fall while keeping your health and safety as top priorities. Sunday, October 24, 2021 – Strides for Shelter 5K Run/Walk
At McAlpine Park, proceeds from the 2021 Strides for Shelter 5K Run / Walk will benefit the Hope House Foundation of Huntersville. The Hope House Foundation’s mission is to provide transitional housing and supportive services to women and children who are experiencing homelessness.
Saturday, October 30, 2021 – NODA Halloween Freaky 5k
The NoDaWeen Freaky 5K is a fun run hosted by the NoDa “NBA” – Neighborhood and Business Association. Come run though one of Charlotte’s most historic and spookiest neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. A post-run party will be held at the NoDa Company Store.
