It’s one of our favorite times of year — pumpkin picking season. We’ve rounded up the best you-pick pumpkin farms in and around Charlotte, organized by travel time at your convenience. Make a day trip out of it as many have fall themed activities perfect for the whole family.
Hodges Farm

A short drive from Charlotte, Hodges Farm offers fall fun for the whole family to take part in. Find pumpkins of all shapes and sizes at their pumpkin patch, Hay mountain to climb and jump on, barnyard animals, photo opportunities (bring your camera!), and picnic areas.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., every day. No reservation required.
Parking is $5 on Saturdays and Sundays.
Mountain Man Farm
Township 2, Poplar Tent, NC
Travel Time: Approximately 23 minutes
Just a short drive to Concord lies Mountain Man Farm where you can find pumpkins, mums and gourds of all colors, shapes and sizes. Visit their Facebook page for more details and updates.

Triple Diamond Farm

Pick a pumpkin from the homegrown patch at Triple Diamond Farms, and while you’re there, visit the petting zoo, ride a bull, a pony, shoot at the BB range, and take a roll in the corn pit. The pumpkin patch is open every weekend in October.

Wise Acres Organic Farm

Hunter Farm

If you’re wanting a large variety of pumpkins to choose from, look no further than Hunter Farms. The selection includes heirlooms, carving pumpkins, and gourds of all sizes. No reservation is needed to visit the pumpkin patch, but if you want to take a wagon ride to the petting barn while you’re there, visit here to save your seat.
Fall season is from September 25 through Novembver 14. Hours are:
Tues & Wed : 2 p.m. – 7 p.m. (mornings reserved for school field trips)
Thurs – Sunday : 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
$10 per person for wagon ride to petting barn.
Children under 2 years of age ride for free; tickets required starting age 2.
3-5 lb pumpkin included with ride.
Riverbend Farm

Find pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes at this pumpkin patch, open October 1 through Halloween.
Hours are:
Monday through Friday – 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday – 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday – 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission to the pumpkin patch is $5.50 with pumpkins costing $0.40 per pound.
They have four large wagons that go to and from the fields on the weekends so you can stay in the field as long as you want. On the weekday afternoons, two wagons run continuously.
Carrigan Farms

Come pick your own pumpkin, right off the vine at Carrigan Farms. Their pumpkin patches are open the entire month of October with shuttles back and forth to the patch every day. The cost is $12.00 per person for everyone ages 2 and older. Young babies 23 months and under are free; however, they do not get a pumpkin. A $2 per person, non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your appointment and the remaining $10 per person is due at the door. Only cash and check are accepted for payment at the door. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.

Cherry Place Farm

Open Saturdays and Sundays in October, Cherry Place Farms is a great spot to pick your pumpkins while taking part of all the October festivities. Admission is $9 per person for everyone ages two and up, and includes access to the cornmaze, hayrides, petting/feeding the animals, popcorn snack, and barnyard game. Carving size and baby pumpkins are available for purchase separately.

Hall Family Farm

Pick the perfect pumpkin at Hall Family Farm’s pumpkin patch along with hayrides and other fall activities. After you’ve picked and played, visit the sales tent for a treat at the cafe. End the day by getting lost in their 7-acre corn maze.
There is no admission charge to visit the farm.

Come out to Patterson Farm to get the perfect pumpkin for your home. While you’re there, get lost in their corn maize, visit the barnyard, go on the cow barrel train ride, hayrides, and more. Purchasing tickets in advance is highly encouraged and can be done here.
Pumpkin cost is not included in admission. Little pumpkins are $0.59 per pound and novelty pumpkins are $0.99 per pound.

Open for fall season on weekends beginning September 24, Aw Shucks! Farm has everything you need to celebrate fall all in one place. Pick a pumpkin at their pumpkin market, get lost in their 3-in-1 corn maze, make a visit to the animal barn, go gem mining, sit by the bonfire, and much more.

Enjoy the cooler temps by heading to Bush-N-Vine farm for u-pick pumpkins. Pumpkin season starts September 25 and ends October 30. Make sure to pack a pair of tennis shoes as the patch can be muddy after it rains. Also, there are picnic tables available if you want to bring your own picnic lunch.

This one is a longer drive from Charlotte, but perfect for a weekend day trip with the family. Open every Saturday and Sunday in October, Pumpkin Pickin’ Adventure at Millstone Creek Orchards includes pumpkin picking, hayrides, pumpkin seed tasting, apple cider slushies, and apple cider pressing demonstrations.
