Better Bare Skin and Reversing Sun Damage with this New State of the Art BBL HERO® Laser

We don’t get many chances for do-overs in life, but we’ve scoop-ed out one pretty amazing new treatment that can take years of sun-damage and aging off of your appearance.

As we’re all thinking about heading out in strapless & sleeveless to upcoming parties and events this spring, and baring more skin come summer, we’re taking a hard look at our skin, not just on the face, but on the chest, back, arms and more.

A new laser treatment at Beck Aesthetic Surgery has the power to reverse (or at least minimize) the effects of too much sun exposure and aging on skin ~ it’s called the BBL HERO® laser. The acronym HERO® stands for High Energy Rapid Output (TM) and it is a technology upgrade for the Sciton BBL® laser.

Beck Aesthetic Surgery was among the first in the region to begin use the BBL HERO® laser in December, and Dr. Joel Beck and his team have been very pleased with the results they’ve achieved for patients thus far.

“The BBL HERO® delivers treatments at four times the speed and three times the amount of power output as the regular BBL treatment,” Beck says. “Patients are treated more quickly without compromising efficacy. Areas like the face, neck and chest can be done in minutes with plenty of time to add on larger areas like the back, arms, and legs. Plus with the higher energy output, patients receive a stronger treatment each time than with regular BBL.”

BBL HERO® treatment can be used to treat sunspots, age spots, redness, dull-looking skin and other visible signs of aging virtually anywhere on your body. Not just for facial skin, it is frequently used to rejuvenate the arms, legs, chest, back, and shoulders.

During a treatment session, the BBL handpiece is passed over target areas, and you’ll feel a warming sensation with each flash of light. The handpiece incorporates a cooling plate that keeps the surface of your skin comfortable throughout treatment and does not require a numbing cream. Each body part takes only minutes to treat.

Right after treatment, the pigmented or vascular lesions will darken, confirming that the light reached its intended target. There is no downtime required after treatment. You can immediately resume your normal routine, Dr. Beck says, as long as you stay out of direct sun exposure. Liberal use of sunscreen is required when outdoors.

The number of treatments needed varies from patient to patient, and for most patients, a series of three treatments is initially recommended. The Beck Aesthetic medical aestheticians will personalize a treatment plan based on each individual’s skin and the level of desired improvement.

We think now is the perfect time to start this series of treatments, when we’re not out in the sun much, and to allow time to finish the treatments. So we can be ready for the bare skin fun awaiting us (finally!!) this spring and summer.
