Brunch in Charlotte Fall 2022

We take brunch very seriously around here. It’s a way to celebrate the weekend, have fun with the girls, and a great excuse to indulge. Charlotte is filled with great brunch spots, so you have many options to choose from.

To make the choosing easier, we searched the Queen City and surrounding area for the best brunch around, and let’s just say — this list will have your mouth watering.

The Scoop: An all-time favorite brunch that includes options like chicken and waffles, indulgent french toast, crab cake benedict, duck confit hash (yukon gold potatoes, caramelized onions, roasted mushrooms, rainbow swiss chard, fresh herbs, poached eggs, hollandaise) and more. Drift on Lake Wylie

Brunching hours: Saturday & Sunday, 10:30am – 2:30pm

The Scoop: New to North Carolina and new to the brunch scene is Drift, a chef-inspired chophouse located on the beautiful Lake Wylie. As of September 17, 2022, Drift is now offering brunch and the menu is everything we hoped for and more. Devour brunch entrees such as chicken & funnel cakes (house-made funnel cake, fried chicken breast, spicy maple syrup, powdered sugar), lobster rolls (grapefruit butter poached lobster, spicy aioli, soft hoagie bun, chives), and pecan sticky buns (house-made brioche cinnamon roll, honey caramel, pecans).

The Pump House

Brunching hours: Sunday until 3 p.m.

The Scoop: On Sundays, grab a table and enjoy dishes such as bacon benedicts, chicken biscuits, and one of our favorites, the Shrimp & Anson Mill Grits (four jumbo white shrimp, heirloom white corn grits, roasted sweet peppers, tasso ham, creole style white wine cream sauce).

Mariposa

Brunching hours: Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

The Scoop: Enjoy Uptown views, world-to-table brunch dishes, and lively jazz at Mariposa’s all new Jazz Brunch. Expect unique brunch dishes such as Chilaquiles Rojas (tortilla chips, salsa roja, cilantro crema, cojita, fried egg), french toast (whipped lemon mascarpone, caramelized apples, creme anglaise, maple syrup), pork belly bowl (sticky rice, kimchi, shaved cucumber, seaweed, poached egg) and more.

Ace No. 3

The Scoop: We know, we know, this is not your typical brunch spot – but Ace No. 3 is a prime pick for a classic B.E.C sandwich. Thick, juicy bacon, runny or hard egg, plus melty American cheese cooked to perfection and served on a Brioche bun. And while Bloody Marys aren’t on the menu, you can kick off your weekend with a Boozee Milkshake like the Rumfetti Cake (vanilla, rumchata limon, sprinkles) or Salt Shaker (vanilla, tequila, pineapple).

The Scoop: Seafood may not be front of mind when it comes to Brunch, but this South End favorite serves some pretty creative dishes. Bite into a Chicken Creole Biscuit, Lobster ‘Bene’, or scoop a spoonful of Creole Shrimp & Grits. Pair with a $3 Mimosa or $7 ‘Shipwrecked’ Mary (drink specials available all day).

The Scoop: Angeline’s isn’t just a hot spot for dinner, but for breakfast as well. Served 7 days week, you can find something for everyone on their breakfast menu. We’re currently loving thesharable whipped ricotta (sourdough, lavender honey, pistachio), Angeline’s Breakfast Sandwich (toasted ciabatta, egg, provolone, cardamom candied bacon, arugula, sherry-tomato jam, confit potatoes) and the bagel with smoked salmon (whipped mascarpone, cucumber, pickled onion, capers). And the waffles change with the seasons at Angeline’s ~ urrently they’re Honey Ricotta Waffle with Blueberry Jam, Lemon-Brown Sugar Creme, Toasted Walnuts.

Village Tavern

The Scoop: Brunch just got a whole lot better thanks to Village Tavern’s new Brunch Old Fashioned. Pair it with their Tavern Benedict (Virginia cured ham or sliced grilled chicken breast, sautéed fresh spinach, diced roma tomatoes, poached eggs, southern buttermilk biscuits, choice of hollandaise) or their Southern-Style Chicken & Waffles (thick Belgian waffle, crispy all-natural chicken tenders, served with 100% pure Vermont maple syrup) for ultimate deliciousness.

The Scoop: A healthy alternative to your normal brunch. We love their vegan cinnamon rolls, but if you’re not in the mood for something sweet, they offer other vegan and vegetarian breakfast items such as their Chick’n & GF Waffles, Kimchi Crabcake Sando, and Breakfast Burrito.

The Scoop: From the minds behind Reid’s Fine Foods comes Salted Melon Market + Eatery, an all day cafe in South End. Do some light shopping at the market, then sit down for a hearty breakfast with options like the Kaleifornia Love (toasted country loaf, smashed avocado, sautéed kale, arugula, roasted tomatoes, light lemon vinaigrette) and the Overnight Sensation (overnight oats, banana, strawberries, blueberries, candied pecan granola, honey, peanut butter drizzle).

The Scoop: With several spots in Charlotte, including the recently opened location in SouthPark, Snooze is known for a great brunch. Expect a variety of pancakes (you can even create a pancake flight), breakfast classics such as egg benedicts, breakfast burritos, bacon flights, and much more.

Cafe Monte French Bakery and Bistro

The Scoop: You can never go wrong brunching at this charming French bistro. French-country fares such as hot beignets, escargot and the Benedict Monte (croissant, smoked ham, two eggs, tomato, asparagus, hollandaise) lie on their Déjeuner Menu.

The Scoop: So many great breakfast options can be found at Sunflour, all small batch and made from scratch. Try one of their many breakfast sandwiches on your choice of bread; including the egg, cheddar, and avocado sandwich, and Sunny’s Special with egg, sausage, sundried tomato pesto, and arugula.
