1776 at Blumenthal Performing Arts
June 6 – 11
A revolutionary new version of the Revolutionary War musical 1776 from Director Diane Paulus is coming to the Belk Theater from June 6 through June 11. Instead of telling the story of the founding fathers with a cast of mostly white men, Paulus and co-director Jeffrey L. Page’s 1776 is a more representative modern ensemble made up entirely of multi-racial actors who are female, nonbinary, and trans. Tickets can be purchased here.

As you settle into your serene farm surroundings, the instructor will guide you through a series of seated yoga poses as you hear several instruments, including crystal singing bowls, frame drums and the didgeridoo. Head over to Camp North End for Crossroads Cinema, a free outdoor movie series showing some of the most iconic films to come out of the 80s & 90s happening every Thursday, all summer long. This week, bring your chair and enjoy a special showing of Footloose. There will also be some free retro arcade games to play while you’re there.

Taste of Charlotte Festival

Taste of Charlotte is a three-day food festival in Charlotte, NC. It features samples from area restaurants and various performances and activities that will surely delight the festival-goers. Aside from that, a large variety of local, regional, and national partners will provide information, coupons, and free stuff! Admission to Taste of Charlotte is FREE.  Purchase festival coins to use for restaurant samples, beverages and kid’s activities.  You can purchase your coins on-site at booths located throughout the festival.

Stella’s 100th Anniversary Mobile Bistro Pop-Up in Uptown

Stella is celebrating its 100-year anniversary with “Stella’s 100th Anniversary
Mobile Bistro Pop-Up,” a national food tour that is making a stop in Uptown Charlotte. Free to the community, the tour’s Charlotte stop will provide food samples incorporating some of Stella’s most iconic cheeses, alongside giveaways and a charitable partnership with Harvest Hope Food Bank. No tickets or reservations are required.

Make a day of it with coffee or lunch from the Gateway Canteen, and stop in at the Greenway Gateway (visitor’s center) to learn more about Greenway trails, activities, and memberships.
