Resolutions: 25 @WomenofCLT Share Their Resolve for 2024

The word on 2024 resolutions is…a WORD. Some call it a nudge word and some just pick a word that best captures their vision for next year.

Our @WomenofCLT are no exception – most report that they’re focusing on a word or two to express their goals both personal and business for the upcoming year. Those goals and resolutions are as varied as the women stating them ~ ambitious, caring, thoughtful, bright, talented, inspirational.

Who are these women and how did we pick them? We have an instagram account, @WomenofCLT, which profiles local women doing interesting things. Periodically we poll those profiled for their views or news; their responses are below!

Kiran Dodeja Smith – Easy Real Food

I’m not a fan of resolutions per se, but more a fan of REFLECTING
Most people prioritize health during the first few weeks of the year, but the truth is that health is a daily, weekly, monthly thing. It’s a lifestyle. So instead – what can you do to feed what YOU are craving? (and I don’t mean chocolate!);)

For me, it’s more reading and more writing. I bought a new (yet another) journal that I’m vowing to write in. Each day, it’s one or the other. Both are fulfilling on different ways.

Michele Morgan- Charlotte the Figgy

LEARN is my word for 2024. Starting with the things that overwhelm me most (hello tech). 2023 was so incredibly transformative for me, both personally and professionally! My [2023] word was transformation. High highs. Low lows. I want to lean into the lessons of 2023. (Photo by: @true.matriarch)

Molly Grantham

[1] Try new things (auctioneering?).

[2] Take stock of what’s around. You can grow, while holding onto what has been earned. Feeling appreciative for what’s known and comfortable… not taking my three healthy children, a great city, vibrant career, loving community, or longstanding friendships for granted.

[3] Keep speaking. Laugh all you want: I enjoy giving keynotes and feeling the feels from a crowd.

I decided on a word rather than a resolution this year and my word for 2024 is INHERITANCE. It embodies a commitment to shape not only my personal life but also my business in a way that leaves a positive and enduring legacy. Beyond the financial aspect, it’s about passing down values, love, and wisdom to the generations that follow. In my business, this word drives me to offer excellence, reliability, and integrity. This year, I’m focused on building a legacy worth celebrating.

Nichole Eaton

For me, this year is focused on more FLOW and EASE. Letting life, parenting, and work feel easier which also comes with allowing myself to be supported. It takes a village and sometimes I forget to ask my village.

On this business front, my resolution for this year is to regain my sense of community. As a New York transplant, my soul is craving seeing more faces, getting to know more incredible women in the area, which means creating more events to play with you all!

Amy Strasser @cltfoodgirl

I don’t set resolutions, but my word of 2024 is COURAGE. This applies to both my personal and professional life. Courage to take more risks, grow outside my comfort zone, try new foods, travel to new places, accept new opportunities, etc.

I also intend to be more courageous in staying true to myself, setting boundaries, saying no, and having the courage to take more time off my phone without being afraid of the algorithm.

Bethany Thomas

My three words for 2024 are BALANCE, GROUNDED, and SAVAGE. As a working wife, mom, and Mrs. South Carolina, I’m intentional about finding balance each day. My goal? To be grounded; sensible and using wisdom in what I commit my time and energy to this year. And finally, savage…the definition of savage is fierce, ruthless. In 2024 I’m going to love more deeply than ever before. Like a savage. Fierce love for my beautiful family. Fierce self love as I dive deeper into total wellness.

My word for 2024 is PURSUE. I want to pursue my kids, husband, connections, work, & experiences. The word pursue puts responsibility of my effort behind it, and I like that. Under the umbrella of PURSUE, I wrote down 1 physical, 1 personal, & 1 business goal I want to focus on (pursue) for the first quarter. PHYSICAL: 6x/wk movement, PERSONAL: Start journals with my daughters, & WORK: Strategic planning for growth. Breaking my priorities apart like this, helps me focus on each intentionally!
