Just a quick post to share links to various articles and posts we’ve found about how to help the victims of Hurricane Helene in the drastically impacted towns of Western NC. We’ll add in as we get new info.
While there are more and more options developing every day, one of the best and easiest is to make a DONATION, repeatedly. There will be needs for months and months during recovery.

You may have seen the big beer truck at SouthPark After 5, and this Thursday they will be filling it with supplies to be delivered to Western North Carolina on Friday morning.
- The truck will be accepting donations at Symphony Park, 4400 Sharon Rd., across from Dick’s Sporting Goods from 12-9pm on Thursday, October 3.
- All supplies will be accepted, with a particular need for water, nonperishable food, cleaning supplies, trash bags, baby formula, diapers, baby wipes, paper plates, and plastic utensils.
- The American Red Cross will be on site accepting blood donations from 3-8pm, thanks to organizing partners Albemarle Corporation.

- Shop at Manolo’s Bakery, Higher Grounds, Artisen Gelato and Tika’s Cake House — businesses in and around the Charlotte region that are donating 10% of sales to western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee storm relief efforts.
- Donate emergency goods and supplies in the Charlotte area at Wooden Robot, the Chamber in NoDa, Thrift Pony in Plaza Midwood, Compleat Kidz Belmont Clinic, and Alchemy Co-Working in Gastonia. Goods include cases of water, toiletries, baby formula, diapers, wipes, blankets, clothes, batteries flashlights and more. More info here.

All New York Butcher Shoppe locations in the Charlotte area are now collection centers for Operation Airdrop, supporting those in need. They ARE Collecting:
- Sports drinks (powdered packets) – Hydration packs (powder form) – Baby wipes & diapers (children & adults) – Baby formula – Bug spray, sunscreen – Water purification supplies: filters, tablets, LifeStraws, etc. – Non-perishable foods- Toiletries & sanitation items – Pet food (dog & cat) – Cleaning supplies – Manual can openers, trash bags – Feminine hygiene products – Heavy-duty work gloves – Socks (all sizes, unopened)
They Cannot Accept:

- @suffolkpunchsouthpark at @southparkmallnc is hosting a drive in partnership with @independencefund. Drop off supplies now through 9pm on Wednesday, October 2.
