Back by popular demand the Kilted Buffalo in Birkdale’s DJ Scott will host a Lip Sync contest Friday, August 21 for cash and prizes! It’s free to enter. Registration is from 9:30-10:15 p.m. and the contest will start around 10:30. You do get to pick your own song. I call dibs on Hit Me Baby One More Time.
Bella Love announces the return of its spoken word and poetry night at Oak Street Mill: I’m Just Sayin’… Similar to Open Mic 2.0 series, this evening will exclusively feature performers of the spoken word. Poetry, rap, rants… all styles encouraged. If you are interested in performing you can simply sign up at the door. Doors open at 7:30 pm at Kadi Fit in Oak Street Mill and show will start at 8:00 pm. It’s a $5 cover charge, all ages show.
If you think you’re dog is the best looking in the bunch, enter him or her in the Cover Dog Lake Norman contest this weekend. From 3-6 p.m. at Langtree Plantation photos will be taken of every lushes pooch. The cost is $45 for your first dog and $15 each additional dog. Proceeds benefit Friends of the Animals and the winner will be on the cover of Lake Norman Magazine.
On the Roxx and Social Flockers host the 4th Annual Parking Lot Party Saturday, Aug. 22 starting at 4 p.m. in the On The Roxx parking lot. Dance along to music by Below the Belt from 5 to 8 p.m. and a fancy DJ after that. It’s a beach theme all day and night. There will be outdoor bars, food trucks, giveaways, and so much more!
