New Stores coming to SouthPark Mall This Fall 2014

Southpark Mall

As if Southpark wasn’t already a shopper’s paradise, changes are underway that will make this local mall even bigger & better. A slew of new retailers are slated to open in the fall, many of which are first timers in the Charlotte market.

Runners, yogis, FlyBarre addicts rejoice because the ever popular Lululemon is getting some competition with the new Athleta store opening August 20th near the main entrance. Athleta is part of the GAP group of stores, so we anticipate a similar shopping experience. Price points will be right on par with those at Lululemon, ranging from $40 to $100.

In a bit of irony, Microsoft is taking over the old Apple store space, allowing customers to interact with products like the Surface tablet, Windows PC’s, phones, XBOX and more.

Just next “door” to Microsoft will be women’s retailer Boston Proper offering a range of unique apparel and accessories.

As we scooped back in December, the much anticipated cost-friendly fashion retailer H&M is taking over half the Macy’s wing in a new 20,000 square foot store (for comparison, that’s the size of a small grocery store). This will be the company’s third store in the Charlotte market in the past year and we are hopeful that this one will be the best of the three.

Daddies hide your credit cards because high-end doll company American Girl will be taking over the other half of the Macy’s wing, featuring a 25 seat doll hair salon. Yes, you read that correctly. A doll hair salon.

Your bath time routine gets an upgrade when scoop fave LUSH Cosmetics opens at center court next to Aveda. This British based cosmetics company features fresh handmade products, including some of our favorites like bath bombs, shampoo bars, face masks, makeup and more. The store was scheduled to open in May but now anticipates an early fall arrival.

Vince Camuto is coming to the Neiman Marcus wing with their boutique concept, featuring a range of both men and women’s footwear and accessories.

Also coming to the Neiman’s wing is luxury boutique Armana Collezioni, a sub-label of Giorgio Armani.

And in food related additions, Panera Bread recently announced a new bakery/cafe opening up in the food court in late fall.

Along with the many new stores come some relocations as well.

Sur la Table moved to the Dillard’s Wing, in a beautiful new space that now includes a number of hands-on culinary classes like “Basics of French Pastries” and “Pasta from Scratch.”
